It’s Meet Us Monday and we are excited to introduce you to one of our newer employees, having just joined the team in August- Tyler Berdahl!
- Where did you grow up?
I was born in Wichita, Kansas but was raised in New Mexico. After turning 18, I moved to LA with a friend from Oregon to pursue the big dream of becoming a star! - What is something about you that would surprise people?
I have an online presence! I sing and write songs on the spot (while live broadcasting) under the name “BerdahlMusic”. People can make requests and I’ve really enjoyed it. I had a pretty life-altering experience four years ago that caused me to lose a lot of my memories and it helped so much being able to look back at old YouTube videos I made to rediscover who I am. - What is the best meal you ever had?
That would have to be the first meal my current girlfriend ever made me. It was a pasta dish with vegetables and a butter sauce and spices. It was super simple, but I was so grateful to have someone cook for me for the first time, so I think that is what made it so special. - What is your favorite time of year?
I hate the cold but I love Winter- I think it’s the aesthetic! When you wake up and there is snow or driving to work and there is fog, I just love the way it looks and feels. - Where is your favorite spot in Ashland?
I’m a huge book nerd and really love bookstores. There’s a place on B St. called Hermeticus that I spend a lot of time at. I like books on spiritualism and metaphysics and am actually currently writing one myself! - What are some of your hobbies?
In addition to music and writing, I like miniature painting and book-binding, making journals. I enjoy video games as well. - Tell me about your favorite pet you’ve ever had.
Sadie was the yellow lab puppy we had when I first moved to New Mexico. She’s the best dog you could ever ask for, just so gentle and sweet, but she would rescue us from the rattlesnakes on our property too! Now my girlfriend and I have a black labradoodle puppy named Gooby and he’s super cute. - Who has been the most influential person in your life?
My family and I are extremely close. My mom has been dealing with Lyme disease for 14 years now and I’ve never heard her complain. She’s always there for me and is one of the strongest people I know. My dad is also awesome for being there for her and supporting her. - What is a mantra you like to live by?
One for when I’m writing is by a favorite author of mine. He said, “Write drunk, edit later!” - What is your favorite thing about working at Paddington Station?
My coworkers are really awesome. I’ve never worked in an environment where there are absolutely no issues with anyone- we all laugh and get along so well! I feel respected by both my fellow employees and also the managers here and I’m really happy to work here.
