It’s Monday, so we are introducing you to yet another wonderful employee of Paddington Station! Avram Rosove has worked as a Sales Associate for the past six months, is working toward being a Buyer for the greeting card section, and also is a Loss Prevention Specialist.
Where did you grow up?
All over the place! I was born in Toronto, Canada then moved to Bellevue, Washington. I finished middle and high school in Lake Oswego, Oregon and then came here to study at Southern Oregon University.
What is something about you that would surprise people?
To my knowledge, I am the only male in my lineage! I’ve got three sisters, all my cousins are women, and I am the only male Rosove my age.
What is the best meal you’ve ever had?
It is probably a toss-up between my mom’s Shabbat dinners (she would make challah and there’s a recipe for boneless ribs that has been passed down through the family) and my wife’s steak.
What is your favorite time of year?
Fall, hands down. As I’ve gotten older, I’ve learned that I really enjoy the air, the atmosphere, and the changing of the leaves. I like it so much that I actually ended up getting married in the Fall!
Where is your favorite spot in Ashland?
I would say Lithia Park. There’s a lot of great places to hang out in there and I really like going to Skout, which is right around the corner from there! My wife and I like to try something new every time we go and it’s always great.
What are some of your hobbies?
I love watching TV shows and movies, I play video games from time to time, and I pick up guitar every now and then as well. I actually went to school to play trumpet, so music has always been a hobby of mine!
Tell me about your favorite pet you’ve ever had.
We had to say goodbye to our boy, Baker, last summer. He was an orange cat who was full of personality. My wife had him since he was a kitten and he really warmed up to me when I joined the family! Baker was my day-off buddy and would follow me all over the house and sit in my lap to cuddle.
Who has been the most influential person in your life?
My dad! He’s an incredibly hard worker, a very smart individual, and he’s done absolutely everything in his power to give my family the best life he can. I’m working to become that kind of man.
What is a mantra you like to live by?
My parents instilled the Golden Rule in me at an early age and I always try to treat others as I would want to be treated. It’s nice to be able to put that out there into the world and even if someone is having a bad day, it helps boost them.
What is your favorite thing about working at Paddington Station?
I get a lot of really good support and I love working with all the different people here. I like that I can go to the bosses and they’ll actually listen to me and there’s plenty of room for growth! They give us a lot of tools to be our best selves.
